
The Coastal Commander of the German Bight was the name of a military office of the German Navy. It was created on February 10, 1941 by merging two command areas at the Wilhelmshaven location. The head was subordinate to the next higher office, "Commander of the Security of the North Sea (BSN). The task was the coastal defense of the German and parts of the Danish and Dutch North Sea coast in his area. The respective section commanders and their departments were subordinate to him. In 1943 the headquarters moved to Cuxhaven, and in mid-1944 the office was renamed Commanding Admiral of the German Bight. Source:
